Trading System Overview – Pokémon TCG Card Exchange Guide

Комментарии · 5 Просмотры

Explore the upgraded trading system and Pokémon TCG card exchange, now offering expanded flexibility and rare collection opportunities.

Trading System Overview

The trading feature in the game enables players to gather complete collections and fulfill specific objectives, making it easier to assemble decks with rare cards that are difficult to obtain through pack openings.

With the release of B1, a significant upgrade was introduced to the trading system, expanding the range of tradeable cards to include those of certain rarities.

Furthermore, players can now exchange cards from the ongoing expansion, enhancing their trading flexibility and collection-building opportunities.

Engaging in trades is primarily a social activity, allowing players to exchange Pokémon TCG cards with friends or trusted peers.

To ensure fairness and consistency, trades are generally conducted between cards sharing the same rarity level, such as common, uncommon, rare, or ultra-rare.

Certain trades may require the use of shinedust, a special resource whose amount needed varies according to the card’s rarity. Each trade, whether free or paid, consumes one unit of trade stamina, limiting the number of trades you can perform in a given period.

Players can trade cards from nearly all sets, with the exception of promotional series, which are currently not tradable.

It’s important to note that you do not need multiple copies of a card to initiate a trade involving that card.

When sending trade offers, only one can be dispatched at a time, ensuring a manageable trading process.

Trades encompass all rarities of cards, but there are restrictions—specifically, certain card types, like legendary or special cards, cannot be traded. Additionally, promotional cards are unavailable for trade at this time.

You can trade cards from the current expansion set as well as from different expansions, providing flexibility in building your collection through trading.

Every trading activity consumes one unit of trade stamina, regardless of the card's rarity. This stamina regenerates over time, with a full recovery taking 24 hours. Players can naturally restore up to five stamina points daily, similar to event or wonder hourglasses. Additionally, there is an option to purchase up to three extra stamina slots, allowing a maximum of eight. It's important to note that if a trade is declined or canceled, the used stamina and any shiny dust spent will be refunded, and the overshoot slots will be freed up for future use.

To replenish trade stamina more quickly, players can utilize trade hourglasses or spend Poké Gold.

  • Each trade hourglass restores one hour of stamina, meaning it takes 24 hourglasses to fully recover one stamina point.
  • Poké Gold can restore four hours of stamina per unit, equating to six Poké Gold for a complete stamina recovery.

The scaling for Poké Gold is as follows: 2 Gold for 8 hours, 3 Gold for 12 hours, 4 Gold for 16 hours, 5 Gold for 20 hours, and 6 Gold for a full 24-hour recovery.

If a trade is canceled or declined, the stamina spent on the transaction will be returned to the players.

Trading cards of common and uncommon rarity does not require shining dust.

However, trading rare or ultra-rare cards does require shining dust, and both participants must have sufficient quantities to finalize the trade.

Shinedust can be obtained through multiple avenues, primarily by opening booster packs or by trading duplicates of cards you already possess.

For a clear understanding of the amount required for various trades, consult the table below that outlines the shinedust needed to complete each exchange.

Trading Feature Overview

Utilizing the trading wishlist feature streamlines the process of finding trading partners by minimizing the need for external communication. When selecting a trade partner from your friends list, any cards they have wishlisted will appear prominently at the top of the card selection interface, making trades more straightforward and increasing your chances of successful exchanges.

To add a card to your wishlist, navigate to that card within your collection and click the small heart icon located at the top right corner. Keep in mind that your wishlist can contain up to 20 cards. When a card is added to your wishlist, it will also display a heart symbol if it appears in a wonder pick, aiding quick identification.

Even if you trade away your only copy of a card, it remains visible in your collection, but it will be marked as "not obtained" when you attempt to access it. Any flairs associated with the card will stay linked to your account but will be hidden until you re-acquire the card. Additionally, if the card was part of a deck, that entry will turn greyed out in the deck editor, indicating it’s no longer available for use.

Importantly, your progress toward collection completion remains unaffected by trading away a card. For example, if you traded your last copy of a Pokémon needed to complete a Pokédex or themed collection, the mission remains marked as completed. The same applies to theme decks; trading out a necessary card won't undo your completion status, although you won't be able to use that deck unless you replace the missing card.

Mission progress is resilient to trades. If a particular card contributed to your progress—say, collecting five Gardevoirs—trading one away doesn't reset your achievement. When you acquire Gardevoir again, your count increases, and you can complete the related mission once the total reaches five, regardless of previous trades. Similarly, trading back and forth of the same card between two players can allow both to reach the required number and complete their missions simultaneously.

Before trading a card that is part of a binder or display board, you'll receive a warning. Once the trade is finalized, the card will be removed from the binder or display but won't turn greyed out like deck cards.

Trading does not impact the card’s flair status, as flairs are separate from the card itself. However, it is possible to transfer flairs along with cards if your trade partner sends a flaired card back to you, regardless of the flair's shine dust cost.

When you exchange your final copy of a specific flair, the flair will be removed from that card across decks, binders, and display boards.

If it was your last copy of the card itself, the card will also be either removed or greyed out in these locations.

Before trading away your last flair, the game will prompt a warning to confirm that this is intentional.

Limited flairs earned from special events can be traded.

However, be aware that trading such flairs does not trigger a warning about their rarity, so proceed with caution.

Cards maintain their original language upon trading, just as when you acquire them through wonder picking.

During gameplay, the card's language will automatically adapt to your system language.

For detailed information, consult our guide on card language settings in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

You have the option to select specific languages when trading if you own multiple language versions of the same card.

To review your past trades, go to the social hub by tapping the middle button at the bottom of the screen, then select 'Trade' followed by 'History'.

Here, you can view your 30 most recent trades from the past 90 days.

Ensure you have at least 1 trade stamina and sufficient shiny dust for rarer cards before initiating a trade.

Trading requires both players to be friends.

Neither participant can be engaged in another trade simultaneously, and both must have trade offers enabled.

Additionally, both traders need to be above level 3 to participate.

When many players are trading simultaneously, the system may temporarily suspend trading.

Please wait and try again later.

For finding trading partners, join the Pokémon-zone Discord server and participate in the trading channels.

You can also browse your friends' in-game wishlists to identify potential trades.

We recommend using the Discord server for trading due to better communication.

Make sure to check all available channels, as some may be hidden by default.

Over the years, the trading system has undergone several updates:

  • December 2025: Crimson Blaze set became tradable.
  • October 2025: 2-star, 1-shiny, and 2-shiny cards from the current set (including Deluxe Pack: EX and Mega Rising) are now tradable.

Trade tokens used to be the primary currency for trading until July 26, 2025.

They were required for trading cards of rare and special types, with both traders needing enough tokens to complete the exchange.

Trade tokens were mainly earned by dusting cards from your collection, similar to exchanging high-rarity cards for tickets or flairs.

They could also be obtained by completing certain event missions.

Trading System Update

Starting in the summer of 2025, players will notice an enhancement in the trading system: when they receive a duplicate card already listed in their card index, the shinedust awarded will now be doubled compared to previous amounts. This change aims to streamline trading activities and encourage collection flair.

Additionally, the feature allowing players to convert trade tokens into other rewards will be discontinued after July 29, 2026, marking the end of this particular transaction option.
